Springs and Stones - A celebration of Imbolc - exploring our soul connections to the magic of the natural world & an opportunity to paddle or immerse in a sacred spring.

We invite you to join us at this beautiful time of the year halfway between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox, when the frosts begin to retreat and the world begins to stir again after hibernation.  To come together as community, to embrace the shifting energies as we begin to transition from the depths of winter towards the warmth, rebirth and renewal of spring.  To grow and explore our soul connections to the magic of the natural world whilst honouring the sacred energies of Imbolc.

We will join together within the Stone Circle of Avebury to undertake a mindful pilgrimage to balance the deeply reflective and inward energy of winter with physical movement.  Stepping forwards and preparing ourselves for the stirrings of life in the natural world, rejuvenation not only of the earth but our own spirits and bodies.  Our pilgrimage will take us through the countryside along the River Kennet towards her source, around the magic of Silbury Hill, crossing one of the streams that is birthed from the Swallowhead Spring and up to the West Kennet Long Barrow before circling back to the Avebury Stone Circle walking within the ancient stones of the West Kennet Avenue.

The walk is around 3 miles and will be at a gentle pace but please be aware that the route is muddy and slippery and there are also some steep up and downhill sections. There will be opportunities for us to pause and reflect, to reconnect with ourselves and the land, to honour and hold gentle ritual, to cleanse our souls and our spirits, to rejoice, to set intentions and plant seeds for what is to come.   We will spend time holding sacred space together, and individually, within the depths of the West Kennet Long Barrow.  Holding ritual at the SwallowHead Spring honouring the sacred waters.  Meditating amongst the beautiful trees with their roots deep within this mystical land and walking amongst the wonderous energies of the many ancient stones of Avebury.  

On our return  we will have a warming soup lunch (vegan and gluten free), an opportunity to share and hold a closing ritual. You are then welcome to explore Avebury, or visit the cafe and shops at your leisure.

So come join us as we celebrate Imbolc, the belly of the mother, and prepare for the coming season, to walk in nature through this mystical land as the seeds of spring and the sap begins to stir and we feel the sun's warmth on our faces and the earth beneath our feet.
