Hi there,
Happy September! I've always found there's something magical about these in-between times of year. It's as if the world is taking a deep, collective breath before the arrival of winter in its fullness. And in that breath, there's an invitation. To feel, to reflect, and perhaps... to adventure.
That's exactly why we love hosting retreats in autumn. These gatherings are so much more than just getaways; they're sacred spaces that urge us to reconnect - with ourselves, with others, with nature (our Awakening the Wild Woman retreat remains one of the most transformative of my life).
It's incredible how stepping away from our daily routines can suddenly make everything clearer. It's a bit like what happens during a psychedelic journey – those moments when the usual chatter of our minds quiets down, and we can see ourselves and our world with fresh eyes. In the company of others, we begin to ask - who are we? What's holding us back? How can we connect more deeply with ourselves? Others? Nature?
This week we're highlighting all our upcoming retreats this autumn - from exploring the treasures of the Welsh forests to delving deep into self in the jungles of Peru. So, my fellow adventurers, what's stirring in your heart as the seasons change? What journey is calling to you? Remember, sometimes the most profound trips are the ones that lead us back to ourselves.
At the bottom of this email you'll also find:

in Community, Leadership, & Social Change
We're incredibly excited to be hosting an intimate and exclusive evening for Psychedelic Society members with a talk and meet and greet with Bessel Van der Kolk, the world-renowned author of the New York Times bestseller The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma. in Adventures in Awareness
On Sunday 4th August we raised over £1200 for the Ormylia foundation, supporting children fleeing war zones and abuse through our event with philosopher-physicist Bernardo Kastrup and celebrated biologist Michael Levin. It was a fantastic event and you can still make a donation and watch the recording. Thank you so much to all who supported!
We're also delighted to be offering a free 6-week course on Loving-Kindness meditation with Mark Ovland, founder of Freely Given Retreats. Despite experiencing what many people consider the pinnacle spiritual experience, Mark left that behind to become a close student of the late Rob Burbea, who many believe to have radically updated Buddhism to a modern context (we chat to him about that here).

FROM OUR PARTNERS
The philosophy, psychology and culture of decentralization

Join us at a unique gathering of forward-thinking builders, artists, and mystics in London. On September 11, experience the BETWEEN WORLDS symposium—a portal to the future where ideas of decentralization are explored through philosophy, psychology, and culture. This event marks the inaugural in-person meeting of the Grey Robes, a global network of creators living in the liminal, in-between spaces. As the old world falls away, these visionaries play a pivotal role in crafting what comes next. Be part of this transformative journey.
Psychedelic Society members can book discounted tickets here or this special VIP ticket option which offers early arrival for networking with speakers and other VIP's.
