A new physical workshop in Kemptown is inviting locals to explore non-verbal communication and movement. Brighton Extended Embodied Play-Fight takes place at Humankind Hot on Somerset Street, offering an extended session of wrestling and connection games. Open to people of all genders, sexualities and physical abilities, the workshop guides participants through warm-ups, safety rules, techniques, and personal boundaries before any sparring begins.

Inside the circle, two to four people can challenge each other to two-minute play fights, with strict protocols in place—such as keeping at least one knee on the ground and avoiding any contact above the neck. Spectators and participants can pause or stop the action at any time to ensure everyone stays comfortable. The session wraps up with an open jam, giving people space to continue play fighting, massage, cuddle, or simply socialise.
