Live theatre fans in Neepsend can head to Alder on Percy Street for the World of sheds Christmas show, a local sitcom combining stage performance, character comedy and surrealist fun. Organisers are running two performances: an earlier family staging suitable for anyone aged ten and over, followed by a later session just for adults.
Over at Highfield Trinity Methodist Church, WED 11th Nov 7-9pm Ecstatic Dance with Reya offers a sober, barefoot moving meditation led by a live DJ. People can dance freely without steps or talking, working through styles ranging from classical to drum and bass. Meanwhile, in Meersbrook, café Kopi and Chai hosts HOMELY TRUTHS: a cosy evening of stories. Guests sit with cushions and blankets to listen to folk tales from storyteller Yoyo, songs from Iona, and reflections from the room, with drinks and snacks served by Kat.
