Speed-Friending & Social: Manchester

Celebrating the Manchester Psychedelic Community and The Psychedelic Society partnership

We're very excited to officially launch the partnership between Manchester Psychedelic Community and The Psychedelic Society. By bringing our organisations together, we believe we can build an even stronger community of curious and connected humans.

Our March social marks the beginning of what we hope to be a long and fruitful collaboration, as we work together to bring more talks, workshops, panels and moments to wonder about the world to the North-West.

To kick things off, the Psychedelic Society's sell-out event ‘Speed-Friending’ is coming up north!

What is Speed-Friending?

Speed-Friending is a night of sweet conversation, open to everyone, where you can drop the small talk and ask the questions you REALLY want to ask. We use the word ‘speed’ in the loosest possible sense. Real connection can't be rushed and neither will we!

Taking inspiration from the 36 Questions to Intimacy and The School of Life's '100 Questions', this kind of platonic friend ‘dating’ gives you a menu of profound, intriguing, and spicy questions designed to inspire authenticity and deepen your connection with those around you.

You’ll be guided through playful ice breakers, and into a series of 10 minute conversations with strangers, in groups of 2's and 3's throughout the evening and landing into free flowing socialising.

You’ll leave here with new friends and inspiration for how to guide conversation into juicy and interesting territory.

Who are Manchester Psychedelic Community?

Meaningful connection is at the very heart of the Manchester Community.  We bring people together by hosting regular social gatherings and events including educational talks, workshops, outdoor activities and wellbeing groups. We are a wonderfully diverse group of people. Many of our members attend events by themselves and have made friends through the community. We aspire to be an increasingly accessible, democratic, LGBTQ+ inclusive, anti-racist community. Many of us identify as neurodiverse and the age of members spans a lifetime. We especially welcome the socially anxious. Our main events are held in Manchester City Centre, with others happening across the Greater Manchester area.

Who are The Psychedelic Society?

The Psychedelic Society was setup 10 years ago and has since blossomed into a thriving global community of open-minded folk looking to transform the public understanding of psychedelics and to share and learn practices to deepen our connection with the self, others and the natural world. We offer a  kaleidoscopic range of nourishing & transformative events to support your wellbeing and inspire growth, both online and in-person.
