There is plenty happening across South Devon, starting in Buckfastleigh where the Moor Imagination Centre hosts two very different gatherings. First up is Formula presents: Dance For Life, an all-ages daytime clubbing session in the downstairs space filled with plants, featuring underground house music from the last four decades to raise funds for the Red Cross Disaster Fund. Later on, the same venue welcomes HEATHENS!, a double bill of poetry and comedy featuring former Grand Bard of Exeter Jackie Juno and comedian Edward Tripp, who uses props and music alongside his spoken word. Non-pagans are explicitly welcome.

Meanwhile, over at Totnes Climate Hub, Gary Jolliffe presents Till the Coast is Clear, Plastic free shorelines, Oceans of possibility. This illustrated talk explains how volunteers clear plastic pollution from remote shorelines, showing locals practical ways to take part in hands-on nature regeneration work.

A new creative gathering has been announced in Ipplepen, offering local people a chance to explore performance and spontaneous expression. Hosted by artist and facilitator Alana Bloom, Bears Cave: Ritual Theatre combines movement, meditation, somatics and ritual theatre. The session begins with movement and guided reflection to help participants settle in, before creating a circle where attendees act as both witnesses and performers.

The gathering welcomes many artistic forms, including poetry, singing, clowning, mask work and dance, encouraging attendees to express whatever emerges in the moment. It is designed for anyone open to creative exploration, and no prior experience in acting or performance is needed. The organiser notes that the space is not meant for personal development or for those currently in emotional crisis, and entry is offered on a pay-what-you-can basis to help cover venue costs.
